EMQ Releases NeuronEX 3.4.0: New Protocols and Drivers Support and New Tracing Feature

November 12, 2024, Morgan Hill, CA — EMQ recently released NeuronEX 3.4.0, the latest update to the industrial edge gateway software.

NeuronEX is EMQ’s edge industrial gateway software solution, focusing on industrial protocol conversion and data analysis. It can collect data from over 100 common industrial protocols, including Modbus, OPCUA, Ethernet/IP, BACnet, Siemens, and Mitsubishi, helping users collect real-time data from devices like PLCs, CNC machines, industrial robots, SCADA systems, and smart meters.

Known for its edge data collection and processing capability, NeuronEX 3.4.0 builds on this foundation with a focus on new protocol support, data processing improvement, and data tracing and tracking.

Key features of NeuronEX 3.4.0:

  • New Drivers Support: NeuronEX 3.4.0 expands its data collection capabilities by adding support for several new southbound drivers, including DNP3 protocol, HollySys Modbus TCP and RTU, Allen-Bradley 5000 EtherNet/IP, and Allen-Bradley DF1.
  • New Traces Feature: NeuronEX 3.4.0 introduces a new traces feature that allows users to track and monitor the entire data journey from collection to processing analysis to forwarding. This includes tracking MQTT commands sent to application layers, control commands issued through the NeuronEX API, data collection processes, and edge data processing.
  • Data Processing Improvements: NeuronEX 3.4.0 enhances data processing with new connection management for MQTT and SQL connectors, now supporting automatic reconnection. It allows seamless rule import/export for backward compatibility and enables manual connector customization. The update introduces a file data source for reading CIME files, often used in the power sector.

With NeuronEX 3.4.0, users in the manufacturing, automotive, and energy sectors gain even greater control over their data flow from edge to cloud. These improvements not only help with operational transparency but also support predictive maintenance and optimize performance across connected systems.
