It offers a unified namespace across connected clusters, intelligent message routing, and efficient disaster recovery. The feature ensures uninterrupted communication across the world, reducing network and processing resources by minimizing unnecessary message replication.
  • Message Transformation: Allows users to add customized rules on messages (e.g., adding data fields, converting data formats, and other advanced data transformations) before delivering the data to subscribers, enabling more flexible data processing.
  • Enhanced Security:
    • Kerberos Authentication: Adding support for the widely used network authentication protocol, ensuring secure and authenticated communication between parties in a network.
    • OIDC SSO (OpenID Connect Single Sign-On): Supporting Single Sign-On for the EMQX Dashboard via OpenID Connect.
    • Enhanced HTTP Authentication: Using ACL rules, users can add control over what actions clients/devices can take, such as publishing or subscribing to certain topics.
  • Expanded Data Integration: Adding data integration support for Azure Blob Storage (cloud storage service), Couchbase (NoSQL cloud database), and Datalayers (multimodal distributed database), enabling efficient data handling for large-scale and edge-cloud systems.
  • Hotfix Upgrades: Ensures seamless, fast upgrades without interrupting MQTT connections, minimizing operational disruptions during version upgrades.
